I created this painting after my aunt passed away, with many elements within it reflecting her life and the impact of her loss. At the time, I was living and studying in New York, immersed in learning, but it was during this period that I made the decision to return home to Scotland. This self-portrait became a way for me to process both my grief and the transition in my life, serving as a deeply personal exploration of that challenging time.
